Triangle Marc

By: Marc Edel

The background

I was looking for a new technique to learn in Photoshop. Inspired by surfing on the web I choose this time for the technique called Low Poly. I only had to pick the right image.

The tools I used: Photoshop

The process

How did I make it?

Step 1: Concept

Low poly is making a triangled version of a normal image. So I wanted a big image where I can put many triangles in. This item has to have a happy look as the most things I create have.

Step 2: Making off

I choosed a picture of me swimming with a dolphin, because dolphins always have a happy appereance and it was a huge picture. I opened photoshop and made a small triagle with the polygonal lasso tool and pressed the avarage blur option. It picked the avarage color from the colors in the triangle. I repeated this until the whole picture was done. It took me so much time to low poly the whole picture. But I did and it was worth it.

Step 3: Result

This technique wasn't hard to learn. But the time it took to finish the whole picture was way to much. After all I'm glad I finished it, because I love the outcome. See the result for yourself on the right.

A low poly versions of myself!
